Cottage Rumble: Let it Snow!

Welcome to the "Let it Snow" cottage rumble!

Here is the prize that you could win for participating:

Sparkles© Bright & Happy Holiday

To participate, just make something with "snow" as the theme and post it online for all to see. Leave a comment here with the link, so we can find it. You can use any stamps for an entry, but if you use Clear Artistic Stamps, you will get two entries. Also, if you use a Technique Junkies technique, you will get two entries. The deadline for entry is midnight central time on Thursday, December 31st, 2009.

The design team has created some fantastic examples to inspire you, using stamps from Clear Artistic Stamps. Have a look:

Jeanne:

Lisa’s snow theme made me think of those fun and magical little snow globes that are so irresistible – you just have to pick them up and shake them!

I created the globe by drawing a circle using a template, then free-handing the base. The cardinal is from A Crimson Christmas (which is in limited supply now). Watercolors were used to paint in the details. Starlight Shimmer paper in the background gave a cool and icy effect to this project. Snowflake buttons added the finishing touches to complete this snowy winter scene.

Heather:

I started thinking about Lisa's "snow" rumble theme as I shoveled my driveway. There is nothing like warm comfort food or a warm drink on a snowy day. The snowflake image from Sparkles © Holiday Music was perfect for decorating the title for my recipe booklet.

Jeanie:

Egret in the Snow ATC

I thought since there was a Halloween Egret, why not make a Winter Egret! This ATC was a lot of fun to make. The materials used were: Sparkles © Let It Snow and Thoughts of an Egret stamp sets. Black and VersaMark inks, White Embossing powder, Copic Markers and Embellishments.
The Egret was stamped twice-once on the ATC and once on white cardstock. I colored and cut out everything except the Egret's legs on the second image and layered it over the one on the ATC. The hat and scarf (cut down a little) were "borrowed" from the Sparkles snowman. Brrrrr! He looks a little cold.

Etha:

For my snow-themed card I chose to cut a house-shaped card with my cricut (Christmas Cheer) and decorate it with lots of snow from a stickles bottle :) Of course I had to add a snowman (
Sparkles© Let it Snow) and a present (Sparkles© Holiday Music) from Belinda's collection. The windows have gold shimmer paper (Holiday Spirit Collection) behind them that was run through the cuttlebug to give them a bit of a curtain appearance.

Lisa:

For this challenge, I decided to alter a clipboard photo frame to give as a Christmas gift. I placed a blue snowflake designer paper behind the glass, and then stamped the front of the glass with white pigment ink using stamps from A Sparkles © Bright and Happy Holiday.
My friend can now just slip a photo behind the glass, and the snowman will be in the foreground.
