Our theme for Rumble #13 is
Torn
(use a torn or ripped element such as paper, cardstck or fabric in your artwork)
(use a torn or ripped element such as paper, cardstck or fabric in your artwork)
I often have torn pieces of paper in my scrap pile and I use these scraps on my artwork "AS IS". A torn edge is a great way to camouflage a not quite straight cut or a bent corner.

For my card I went extreme and ripped everything- the edge of my card base, the sentiment, layers, mulberry paper and focal image. My focal image is from Shadows of Memories and my sentiment from Whispers of Dreams.
And here are some projects from some other design team members:
Etha
"For Heather's challenge to use something "torn", I covered a baby formula can with lots of strips and pieces of torn printed papers. Any can will do, nut containers work very well too. Used lots of ModPodge to adhere and cover everything. I stamped several sentiments found in Belinda's sets on yellow and layered them with dark blue from the same paper stash and adhered them on the can in a random fashion. This became a new "catch-all" for my craft room to hold scissors, waterbrushes, glues and such":

Lisa
"When Heather told us the cottage rumble theme is "torn" I was really excited, because I just love to use torn edges! I made a little frame for the hummingbird on my card by simply tearing a hole in the designer paper and inking the edges with a sponge. Believe it or not, the sentiment is stamped on a wallpaper sample! I like how it gives the panel some nice texture. The stamps are from Flight of my Dreams, and I based the layout very loosely on Splitcoast Stampers SC240. Thanks for the fun challenge Heather!"

When Heather mentioned the rumble would be torn. All that came to mind was the song by Mary MacGregor.. so I changed the words a bit to make it go with this card...
Torn between some colors....feeling kind of blue
Using any punches would be breaking Heather's Rules..
I know quite corny.. but oh well.
For this card I used stamps from Birds of a Feather. I edged it with SU Buckaroo Blue and colored with Copics. I then used blue paper with some May Arts ribbon.
This is such a fun rumble.. I know you will just want to jump it and participate.

We have 2 additional examples:
Another in this post on Etha's blog
and one from Jeanne, from our holiday DT on this post in Jeanne's blog
Have fun and we can't wait to see your artwork!

FUN! And, with lovely results- a good combination!
beautiful torn paper everybody!! Since I just sewed up a pillow, I may have to do something with torn fabric as well :)
My original project had some striking similarities to Etha's so I abandoned it and made a card instead.

I really like the torn look, and use it often, so could not resist this challenge - and I enjoyed the cute results.
But now I know that I have not mastered the technique of a link! My card is here:
